Small Steps...to come

Dive into the work of forgiveness…explore it…stumble and stride along the Highest Holy Path…it is vital, it is time. Be gentle, as it is Mystery Work, and ask, always for our help. Small steps.

These words were gifted to me this week, in consultation with wisdom elders, within the energetics of teaching-learning my bodysoul recognizes. What a strange time to be praying into them, though, eh? Trump has been inaugurated. The symbiotic fear-grief-hatred fests in the media have begun in some earnest. What does it mean to participate in love, loving? How does one stay informed without feeding the fear-entrepeneurs? I wonder. I listen.

Today is a limbo kind of day. Preparations for Beloved Community doctoral students coming into town next week. My twice-annual lecture prep for DMin students next Wednesday–Religious Leadership in a Pluralistic World. (I’ve always found it deeply ironical to lecture on such things to a largely African-American audience, but we all need steps toward facing our wounds, opening to healing, right?) Preparations for a small course in spiritual direction, beginning February 10th, one week before Brian and I take off with dear friends for the Caribbean. Ten days on a boat with ourselves, one another, the wisdom of the ocean, opportunities to remember pleasure and ease.

It is also a limbo-season in that I’m about to move platforms for my reflections. Having had so many tech issues in this WIX-website blog, I trust less and less it is a viable location for me. I won’t even be sure it publishes this when I hit the button! It never allows me to see who has 'hearted' the posts either. So, like so many, I will be moving to the Substack platform, which has been waiting in the wings for me to finalize specifications for free and paid subscriptions. (You can see the “nothing there so far” here.) My intention is simply to move all subscriptions to this blog there, but you should be able to unsubscribe if you’d like to bow out.

Finally, the copy-editing for my next book is underway, with endorsement-requests extended and the processes of publication unfolding in earnest. Maybe this limbo-season has simply been a gifted, if forced, pause, so to honor all that work, prepare myself for its impending birth (and my lack of control for anything else about it). Vulnerability hangover, like usual, but this time, something spacious and smiling. For the first time, I wrote it for myself so how others encounter it really doesn’t matter (as much) to me. I continue to feel deep belly pleasure at having been faithful to its working in me, to the One who called it forth, even if no one else perceives this One within its pages. A strange sort of freedom. Beyond forgiveness, perhaps, as named in its current title.

Learn what your definition and experience and sensory connection is regarding Forgiveness. Forget everything you have heard, read, been taught or told…Find the Forgiveness Path that is yours. Hard Work…we will help you, always.

Stay tuned, if you’re interested. More to come, Substack.
